News Release

Haymarket, Virginia:  Serve Our Willing Warriors (SOWW) announced today that with the help of NOVEC and Prospect Solar, solar panels have been installed at its Warrior Retreat at Bull Run home in Haymarket Virginia. SOWW is committed to a future of clean energy for its 37+ acre property where injured warriors and their families come during their recovery process and enjoy the peaceful retreat.

Discussions for the solar panel project began in 2014 with NOVEC and their Green Energy Program Initiative.  NOVEC collaborated with SOWW and with the help of Prospect Solar, the install became a reality for the Warrior Retreat.

Dana Sleeper, Executive Director of the MD/VA Solar Energy Industries Association went on the record to say that "Over the years we've received a number of requests for support from non-profits in our region. Willing Warriors reached out to us and to our surprise, they didn't want a cash donation, they wanted solar. We were impressed by the forward-thinking leaders of their organization, who saw the value in solar and wanted to make that a reality for their facility. We are so pleased to have been able to support their work through this solar installation."

Shirley Dominick, SOWW Founder said “SOWW joins NOVEC, Prospect Solar and the country’s commitment to really embrace renewable energy and energy conservation both here at the Retreat and in our local community.  The install of these solar panels is fitting with our mission to provide the absolute best and most innovative respite retreat for our service members and their families.”
